Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure used to treat infected or damaged teeth. When the soft tissue inside the tooth, known as the pulp, becomes infected or inflamed, it can cause severe pain and potentially lead to the loss of the tooth. Root canal treatment involves removing the infected or damaged pulp from inside the tooth and cleaning the inside of the tooth to remove bacteria. The inside of the tooth is then sealed and filled with a special material to protect it from further infection. The tooth is then restored with a crown or filling to protect it and restore its function.
RCT (Root Canal Treatment) is done when there is extensive bacterial development in the root area of the tooth, it is done to save the tooth from removal. The infected pulp is removed, after which cleaning and shaping of the canals is done and then a suitable inert material is placed and filled. Later a post root canal crown or cap is placed.
